DIY Rainbow Mailbox
Posted by Happy Active Kids on
We thought it would be fun to make our own DIY Rainbow Mailbox to encourage mail giving in our home. We crafted our mail box from a nappy/diaper box and it is super simple to make. This craft is great for cutting, gluing and developing fine motor skills. It also provides another opportunity to recycle and repurpose!
Popsicle Fish Craft
Posted by Happy Active Kids on
These popsicle fish are easy to craft and they require very few supplies. It’s a great motor development workout and allows children to explore their creativity while decorating their fishes. Whilst we were crafting, Little boy also named all the shapes he spotted. The basic shape of our fish is a triangle, however you can challenge your children to make fishes with other shapes too.
Recycled Funny Face Bottles
Posted by Happy Active Kids on
These recycled funny face bottles are so easy to make and children can really explore their creativity with this craft. The idea of this craft is that the handle of the plastic container will become the bridge of the nose of each funny face. Feel free to use whatever recyclables you have at your disposal to make the features of the funny faces. There is painting and gluing involved with this craft which makes a great fine motor workout too.
DIY Cardboard Garage

We’ve made our DIY cardboard garage out of old boxes- a readily available material in most households. This is a great opportunity to reinforce the importance of reusing and recycling. The boys and I had a simple discussion that paper and cardboard is made from trees and how reusing these materials ultimately saves trees from being cut down to make more paper.
Wobbly Egg Monsters
Posted by Happy Active Kids on
We were inspired to make something different with our Easter eggs after hearing of different customs from around the world. These wobbly egg monsters are great fun with so much scope to be creative with the monsters. You can use any craft supplies that you have on hand and each child will enjoy making their own unique monster.
